When you first think of selling your home, you may not know where to start. I aim to simplify that process because I believe it does not need to be a stressful decision. Here are the first three things to do when you are thinking of selling your house.
1. Connect with a Realtor
Find someone you trust and who appears to have great communication and organizational skills. A quick response is what you will want from a Realtor when a buyer calls about your house. Speaking with a Realtor early on is a good idea because they can provide insight into market statistics, give realistic expectations of price, and provide feedback for improving the property prior to its sale. Ask me anything, I am here to help, support, and empower you with the knowledge you need to prepare for your home sale.
2. Clean & Organize
Often enough, buyers want move-in-ready homes. Cleaning and organizing the home can give the home a fresh look. Some sellers also choose to have the home staged by a professional. Stagers rearrange furniture and bring in accessories to make your house look like a model home, which means they continually sell faster and for more money. Ask me for a recommendation of who to use to stage.
3. Paint
A new coat of paint goes a long way to impress buyers. It looks better, it smells new, and buyers can tell the difference. Ask me for a recommendation of which paint colors appeal to the majority of buyers.
